One Year of love!
"Marriage is all about growing together and falling in love all over again, every single day."
After a marriage, three receptions and a honeymoon just before the first lockdown, we both began our life as husband and wife. We have practically lived with each other 24x7 for the past one year right through the COVID-19 pandemic. In the beginning of any marriage, couples have trouble in getting used to each other. But it is the love for one another which overpowers every other emotion. As days pass by, the wife gets habituated to the husband and vice versa.
Subconsciously, we are always caring for each other which reflects in small gestures every day. It is certainly not the roller coaster ride as our courtship days when there was an adrenaline rush quite often. Marriage comes with a sense of calmness that is best experienced in each other’s arms at the end of the day. It is not a bed of roses either, because there will be disagreements and arguments. Yet at the end of each fight, our love only grew stronger.
After marriage, we have certainly matured as individuals. We both moved to Delhi in January this year and we have set up our own small world in a new city. It was challenging but we made it. We miss our parents, a lot, and so do they. But we know that we have made them proud. Marriage has also gifted us the love of a bigger family which is a strong pillar of support in our life.
One year went past with many treasured memories - The shared meals, endless gazing at the full moon, crazy hours of working from home, night walks on the terrace, two hours of climb to reach the Surkanda Devi temple, the minutes of pure love in Kaudia forest, trip to Srinagar, sharing lemon tea at night, movies on laptop, cooking biryani together and simply breathing in the same air every minute. He continues to look at me with love brimming his eyes and my heart skips a beat every single time. I don’t think I can ever get used to this…
With our love growing each day, happy first
anniversary to us!
