IF YOU FAIL , BE PROUD !! I am certain that the title will leave teachers, parents and nerds fuming at me. Nevertheless, I won’t budge from my standpoint. February, March and April are the three most terrifying months in a year for students until they complete 12 th std or pre-university course. Students who are pursuing under-graduation and above are spared this anxiety to some extent. Thank god, I am a graduate now and no longer a panic-stricken student! The amount of stress that the 10 th and 12 th  std students endure is unimaginable. It is indeed the 8 th wonder of the world that they don’t end up as lunatics in an asylum. Trust me, most of them would at the least suffer from chronic depression, unfathomable aggression, tendency to murder (definitely more than suicidal tendency!!), strong desire to turn an ascetic, give up worldly pleasures(read securing a seat in IIT, NIT, AIIMS etc.), escape from home, plan to make a bomb hoax call and many more varying  treach...
PHILOSOPHY OF LOVE ! How many of us have read The Republic written by Plato? Before that how many of us know who is Plato? I am certain that, now most of you will be contemplating on whether to read this blog further or to stop it right here to minimize the damage caused to your brain! So I have decided to make it easier for you and I will ask you a much simpler question. Who is Socrates ? This name certainly rings a bell! He was a famous Greek philosopher about whom we might have heard in our History class. Yet the tragedy is that we only know who he is and not what he told. Philosophy is something that we always consider to be boring and beyond that it’s unfathomable. Then why did I buy The Republic which had been written in 380BC by the great philosopher and thinker Plato?? Of course, the answers range from unemployment to insanity! Regardless of the reasons, I started reading it and let me tell you that, now I know why people find philosophy boring. I learnt it the ha...
WOMEN ARE MORE EXPRESSIVE THAN MEN ???   It was one of my usual fun-filled Deutsch class in the morning when my teacher dropped a bomb that each one of us should make a presentation on one particular topic in the class (P.S. in Deutsch!!!) Of course, she was generous enough to let us choose the topic from the list that she had made for us. I skimmed through various topic titles (around 30!) for the next five minutes. Then I settled for a very thought-provoking topic – “Frauen sind gefuhlvoller als Manner” which literally means that women are more expressive than men! My teacher was very happy with my choice because she expected a really interesting presentation from a writer. I began my presentation by asking the class: “In the movie Titanic, who is more expressive about one’s feelings, Jack or Rose?” I was astonished when the majority voted for Jack! Now my topic was literally gone with the wind… it completely negated the opinion of more than half of the audi...
CELEBRATING ‘WOMEN’S DAY’ WITH MEN “Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” -          G D Anderson First and the foremost, why do we need a ‘Women’s Day’ or for that matter even a ‘Men’s Day’?? Is this a day to stand on rooftops and scream about women empowerment? Or a day to list out the achievements of successful women and point out that they have achieved success despite being women ? Isn’t womanhood something that needs to be celebrated every day? Then why all this fuss about women on March 8? I think women today have left no barriers unbroken and showed everyone what they are capable of. Unfortunately somewhere down the lane we have started obsessing ourselves about women empowerment. Even simple achievement by women is so much glorified, I wonder that indirectly it is being pointed out that we are weak. I fear, it should not reach a p...
